  • Student: 100% IPREM per month, now 600 €. First family member: 75%, or 450 €. Each of the following: 50%, i.e. 300 € [1][2][3].
  • The money that goes to the tuition fee is not counted: living and course fees are treated separately [1].
  • If the residence is paid in advance for the full period, the amount claimed shall be reduced [1][2].
  • The consulate in Moscow accepts parents' own money or money: a bank certificate with a three-month discharge. [2].
  • The regulations don't tell me how many months to multiply the monthly amount for a student. [1].

How much money is needed for a student visa to Spain

The requirement is set out in article 35 of the regulations (Real Decreto 1155/2024): the applicant must have the means to live in Spain and return home without seeking social assistance. For a student, it is 100% IPREM per month, for family members who come with him, 75% IPREM for the first and 50% for each of the following: [1].

IPREM (indicator público de Renta de efectos múltiples) in Spain indexes benefits and income standards. It is 600 a month: this is from Ley 31/2022, and SEPE gives the same 600 y on the 2026 page, next to the minimum wage. [3][4].

Student100 %600
First family member75 %450
Every next family member50 %300

The consulate in Moscow gives the same interest and adds that the student or his representative must show the funds for stay and return [2].

How to count the total amount per study period

A student without a family, a 12-month visa: 600 y x 12 m = 7,200 y. A student and one family member: (600 y + 450 y) x 12 m. A student and two: (600 y + 450 y + 300 y) x 12 m.

The time limit is not given in article 35 and there is no time limit. [1]There is no such standard for studying, and the consulate may be based on the permit period, visa terms or otherwise, and we have no official explanation: specify from the consulate to which you refer.

Comparison for reference: no lucrativa requires 400 per cent of IPREM per month per applicant, i.e. four times as much as a student visa [1]The amounts cannot be transferred between the grounds. funds for no lucrativa.

Which is not part of the confirmed amount and which reduces it

Training fees are not counted: money that goes to the course or programme is not credited to maintenance [1]Both sets of evidence are needed: separate payment, separate living expenses.

The regulations leave a reservation: the amount of maintenance may not be shown if you prove that you have paid for the entire period of stay in advance. [1][2]Which confirmation is accepted, for example, the hostel contract and the payment, depends on the consulate.

What funds are accepted

The regulations refer to sources of approximately: subsidies, assistance and scholarships, valid employment contract or firm job offer if the permit allows work, and in school exchange programmes, the centre ’s claim for self-employment [1]The words "out of all sources" indicate that the list is open.

The consulate in Moscow specifies the format for personal money: the parents ’ own funds or funds confirm the bank certificate of the movement ’s discharge in the last three months [2]Other formats, such as the sponsor's account, not the parent's, the page says nothing. If the money belongs to another person, attach a document about his connection to you and his willingness to support you, and clarify with the consulate whether that is enough.

The proof of income from work in Spain before entry is only possible when offering work, and for higher education, work permits are automatically included if they are compatible with study and do not exceed 30 hours per week [1]Whether the Consulate in Moscow accepts such proposals as evidence, the page does not provide information.

How to formalize a bank statement and a statement

  1. Select the account in the name of the student or parents. It is better not to write it to a third party: you will have to prove your connection separately.
  2. Order a bank certificate of the last three months ’signature or stamped amount and a travel statement [2].
  3. If the document is not Spanish, translation is required; foreign documents are submitted with apostille or legalization and translation [2]Whether this relates to a private bank certificate, the consulate does not say explicitly: specify before ordering transfers.
  4. Check the amount in the currency of the account.
  5. If money is received shortly before delivery, prepare an explanation of origin: the consulate is entitled to request additional documents and information [1].

The confirmation is better when they are already in the account and will be considered for the duration of the review. Student visa documents.

Should we show the funds again when we extend

Yes. In order to extend the stay of study, article 55 of the regulations requires that the conditions which have given rise to the right to permit be maintained: valid passport, maintenance under the rule of article 35 and medical coverage, and the absence of a threat to public order [1]Extensions are granted for two months until the end of the permit, up to two extensions are allowed for higher education [1]So, the proof of funds is prepared twice: on a visa and on each extension, and if the student is working under a permit, the medical requirement is considered to have been met by registration with the Segurid Social Service. [1]I. Procedure itself: Extension of the training estancia.

The new IPREM figure needs to be counted if it changes: now it's 600 me a month, but it depends on the budget law. [3][4].

Typical Errors

  • Consider the cost of learning as part of the living expenses: by regulation, these are different amounts [1].
  • Show 600 me once, not every month.
  • Forget family allowances: their papers are served together and the money is counted on all [1][2].
  • Attach an extract from the annex to replace the bank certificate with a signature or stamp [2].
  • Use the money of a man whose relationship or consent you can't confirm.
  • To take as a rule the amount that a familiar person has called for another program or country: the base, consulate and IPREM may differ.

When Individual Review Is Needed

A case-by-case review is needed if the money is in the family account, not in the parents' account, if the family has more than one member, if the student is working, if you want to reduce the amount of the housing paid or the consulate has already requested additional documents, the decision depends on your case and the current practice of the consulate: the refusal of funds means that you have to look for what is missing.
