Whose route is it?

It fits.

  • You have been admitted to a regular or hybrid program at a recognized educational institution for more than 90 days.
  • You go to face-to-face Spanish or Catalan at the official language school or the Institute Cervantes
  • You need to sign up for a school exchange or volunteer program.

Studying track: 10 steps

  1. Identify programme category

    The age, right to work, family and number of extensions depend on the category, and higher education offers the most opportunities.

  2. Select program and file the entry

    The law requires the receipt and payment of a matrix or payment document.

  3. Confirm the funds

    You need 100% of IPREM per month for a student, which is 600 me. If the dwelling is paid in advance for the whole period, no amount is required for the stay.

  4. Get insurance and collect documents.

    A policy is needed from an insurance provider admitted in Spain, with a cover similar to the basic set of the public system, for the duration.

  5. Select the feed path

    The consulate provides all categories, and you can apply for higher education from Spain if you are legally present in the country.

  6. Pay the fee and apply

    The application for a visa is also a request for permission by estancia, submitted in person or through a representative.

  7. Wait for the decision and get a visa.

    After applying to the consulate, the conciliator decides in seven days, then the consulate issues a visa within a month. Silence means no one else.

  8. Formalize TIE and take into account the rules of work and family.

    If the permit is valid for more than six months, TIE is requested personally within a month. The right to work depends on the category.

  9. Continue estancia

    The extension is applied electronically two months before the end of the application, and the application remains in its status until the decision is reached.

  10. Consider what happens after graduation.

    After a university of at least Grado, you can stay up to 24 months to find a job or your project, and there's a way to a working residence.

Typical errors on this route

  • Selects a program outside the registry or online forms, and then gets rejected.
  • They serve later than two months before the program starts.
  • They charge school fees, although the law doesn't count them.
  • They work more than 30 hours or without the necessary permission outside higher education.
  • They skip the extension window and the month on TIE.
  • They expect the family to work: it is forbidden.

How much money does a student visa to Spain require?
