Who can apply for a digital nomad visa at a consulate in Moscow

Method of step application

  1. Collect a package, translations and apostilles, some documents (injustice certificate, company register) are prepared longer than others.
  2. Request NIE in parallel with the visa. The consulate page requires that it be requested at the same time as the visa, that the 2023 news give it advice before the application; that the NIE does not create a visa [1][2][5].
  3. Sign up: National visa applications are accepted on the basis of a pre-recorded request by letter to cog.moscu.citas@maec.es [3]Since 1 June 2026, some of the national visas (training, employment, family reunification, residencia sine finalidad laboral et al.) have been issued in the visa centres of BLS, while the teletrabajo category has not been named in the Consulate ’s notification of 14 April 2026.   6. Wait for the decision: Consulate is entitled to request missing documents and call for interviews [1].
  7. Take the visa directly or through the representative within one month of the decision being notified [1].

How long to wait for a decision

Visa applications are legally decided within 10 working days, but in cases of consultation under article 22 of the Visa Code the Code itself is in force [4]The Consulate page calls for 10 days from the day after the submission and adds that the deadline increases if documents or interviews are requested [1]. The teletrabajo visas (TEL code) are sent for preliminary consultation to the central services through SIVICO along with the passport, the company's certificado and the registry extract [5]The 20-day rule and the Silencio positivo rule apply to the authorization of UGE, not to the visa: How many UGEs are considering an application.

That after getting a visa,

The visa is granted up to one year (or less) and confirms the right to reside and work remotely in Spain; the TIE card is not mandatory but may be requested. If the consulate has refused

The Consulate shall indicate two ways: recurso de reposición before the Consulate within one month of the date of receipt of the notification and contencioso-administrativo in Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Madrid within two months of the date of notification of refusal or of the decision on reposición. [1]The Consulate specified in 2022 that the complaint must be signed by the complainant or representative with a power of attorney, that the Russian-language complaint must be accompanied by an unofficial translation into Spanish, and that e-mails should not be accepted.
